Great
all around. Great experience. Our room was very clean.
The bathroom we shared with one other room was very
clean and updated. We both found the bed very comfortable.
The location was nothing but great…and the staff
was very friendly and helpful. Each morning there
is a variety of continental breakfast foods such as
cereal, toast, bagels, hard-boiled eggs, muffins,
orange juice, tea, coffee and some more that I’m
forgetting. For the price that you pay it almost feels
like a steal staying here. I will be definitely staying
here again on my next trip to New York.

Great
discovery – Colonial House Inn. This is a very
pleasant place to stay. Good location. Pristine rooms
with down duvets – an unexpected treat! Space
perfectly adequate and plenty of room to hang clothing,
etc. Front desk personnel very pleasant and helpful.
Would thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay.

I’d
go back any day…great location, spotless room
and bathroom, super friendly front desk staff. All
in all, a great bargain! I used to spend a considerable
amount of time in New York on expense account and
spent most of my time in 5-star hotels in Midtown
and were I to be forced into travel mode again, I
would replace them all with the Colonial House. I
really don’t think you can do any better.

Highly
recommended. Just got back from a six night stay at
the Colonial House Inn and wanted to big it up! The
accommodation was spotless and cleaned daily. The
staff were lovely. Chelsea proved to be a great location.
There’s a subway station one block away and
lots of great restaurants at the end of the street
and I didn’t want to leave!!!

Perfect
-– A very good quality/price ratio. This is
a very good deal: very good location, among the lowest
rates in Manhattan, very clean. The staff were rather
polite. The cleanliness of the common bathroom was
beyond perfect. I would definitely go there again.

A
fantastic find in New York. Comfortable, friendly
and clean. We had a great room with white linen and
white walls and a great walk-in shower. The staff
couldn’t have been more helpful providing limitless
cups of coffee.

I
am very happy with my stay at the Colonial House Inn.
It is a friendly environment and I had an amazing
time. The workers there are all very helpful. I would
recommend this hotel to anyone. Great location. Very
pleased!

Stayed
here for 12 nights in August. Triple deluxe room
for my wife, my 15-year old son and me. Place was
spotless. Rooms cleaned and fresh towels daily.
Staff very friendly and Tony, the Manager, extremely
helpful for advice on travel details, local stuff,
etc. In a very central part of Manhattan. Empire
State Building, Macy’s, a 10-15 minute walk.
Subway, local stores and plenty of food outlets
right around the corner. The gay aspect of the place
is very low-key and several other families and other
couples were staying there at the same time as us.
Would definitely stay there again and recommend
the place.

Our
first trip to New York was made all the more special
by Colonial House. My partner and I stayed four nights
in a deluxe room and could not have asked for more.
Great price, location and staff. Everything was very
clean.

I
agree with all the good reviews that have already
been written about this distinctive guest house and
I think it’s one of the best values in New York.
The staff was discreet, gentle and efficient. Even
if directed to a gay customer base, it is well open
to welcome everybody so that everybody can feel at
home. The atmosphere is friendly and informal.

I
was in New York for a conference and rather than pay
over $250 a night at the official hotel of the conference,
I stayed at the Colonial House Inn for much less.
It was great! It was clean, safe and in a nice neighborhood
very close to the subway. I stayed in a smaller room
with a shared bath and found it perfectly fine –
it was nice and bright with new fixtures and furnishings.
The bathroom also had new features and was always
clean. The breakfast was just fine and in fact had
more variety than the previous B&B I stayed in.
There is no elevator however. Other than that, I can’t
recommend the Colonial House Inn enough.

Great
B&B. I had a deluxe room for four nights. Veeeeerrry
clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, friendly
staff. The breakfast wasn’t amazing but everything
else was almost perfect. I recommend it strongly.

Such
a nice surprise – a beautiful neighborhood,
everything is within walking distance including the
subway a block away. My boyfriend and I booked the
deluxe room and the bed was heavenly, the room immaculate,
and the private bath clean and fully functional. We
had a little TV with satellite and a mini-fridge to
keep some snacks and cold white wine. It was clean,
cozy, funky, great atmosphere, friendly staff and
a great breakfast in the morning. Will book this again
for sure!!

I
was going to New York to audition for a couple of
schools and came across Colonial House. At first I
was very wary because I had never booked a hotel by
myself and didn’t want to get screwed over.
After reading all the reviews I figured I would take
a chance. I am so glad I did! The room was perfect
(small but perfect for what I was there to do). I
stayed four nights, the room was clean and neat!

Value
for the money and more. We stayed at the Colonial
House from December 28-January 3rd…we would
have extended our stay until the 6th of January but
they didn’t have any rooms available! We will
definitely be booking this B&B when we return
to New York. The location in Chelsea was perfect…the
area was totally safe. We ended up staying at a different
hotel in Midtown for the last 3 nights but we preferred
the quieter, more residential feel of the Colonial
House. The room was spotless clean and whilst it was
a smallish room, they designed the room well…we
had enough closet space for our clothes/toiletries
and we had room to put two big and one small suitcases
away so that we weren’t tripping over them…there
was enough floor space for two people to move around
without bumping into each other. They also provided
a safe and a small fridge. This room had one of the
most spotless clean bathrooms I have seen in a while.
The bed was great and with a duvet. The breakfast
in the morning was great…no bacon, eggs, etc.
but delicious muffins, bagels, juice. Staff was great…some
more chatty than others but all were courteous and
helpful.

Have
to agree with the majority of the reviewers as far
as great value accommodations in an interesting neighborhood.
Would take a lot to beat this place.

My
daughter and I stayed recently here. We absolutely
loved it! My son has been living in New York for 10
years and when not staying with him, I try to search
for a new interesting place to stay. I have not as
yet stayed at the same place twice…but that
is going to change. We will definitely stay at the
Colonial House Inn again. Great neighborhood, extremely
friendly and helpful staff. The place has such a warm
and homey feel and the beds are heavenly! They will
be seeing me again.

The
Colonial House Inn is a great find! Great neighborhood,
the rooms were very nice and super clean. The staff
was very helpful and friendly. I look forward to staying
at the Colonial House Inn on my next New York trip
and will recommend it to friends and family. The best
thing about it was the price.
- Achaz, Birmingham, Alabama
This
place is a real gem. This is a budget B&B but
with a difference…it’s clean, it’s
friendly, the rooms are great, the breakfast is more
than adequate, staff are really helpful, art is fab!
Profits from this hotel are shared with AIDS charities…the
area is great, a suburban tree-lined street. Check
out their website. It really is just like the pictures!
